Meet Mak

Hey, I’m Makayla, but most people just call me Mak.

My journey in health and fitness began from a young age through years of playing netball, competitive swimming and spending time in the gym. Over time, this passion for movement evolved into a genuine desire to help others feel stronger, more confident and capable within their own bodies.
I’m a qualified Personal Trainer and Exercise & Sports Science graduate with a passion for helping people feel strong, confident and capable through movement.

Built by Mak is all about creating balance - building strength without restriction, finding confidence through consistency and learning to love what your body can do.

I have a Bachelors in Exercise & Sports Science and hold a Certificate III & IV in Fitness, with additional certifications in women’s health, pre/post-natal training and hormonal coaching. This academic and practical background has deepened my understanding of exercise prescription, functional movement and the physiological differences that shape how people train and recover. My approach combines evidence-based training, individualised programs and genuine support to help you achieve results that last.

Whether you’re training to improve performance, build muscle, manage your hormones or simply feel your best, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. My goal is to help you move well, train smart, and feel empowered both in and out of the gym.

Because being Built by Mak isn’t just about the physical changes - it’s about building strength, resilience and confidence that carry into every part of your life.
